What are Deluxe Tape-Ins?
BELLAMI Tape-In Deluxe Extensions provide a solution for concealing traditional polyurethane (PU) tabs. These tabs can sometimes become visible, particularly in high-exposure areas like the crown or the nape of the neck when the hair is pulled into a ponytail. While those are the most common placement concerns, Tape-In Deluxe can be applied anywhere on the head.
BELLAMI created these to offer a more seamless, creative way to blend the extension application point with the natural hair. Featuring our exclusive RootReplica™ technology, these extensions mimic natural hair growth at the base, helping the tabs disappear into the hair for a more undetectable finish.
What are Express Wefts?
BELLAMI Tape-In Express Weft Extensions feature a 10” wide weft backed with adhesive, classifying them as a tape-in method rather than a sew-in weft. These extensions provide an easy way to instantly add length, density, or color without the need to install multiple individual sandwiches.
This extension also eliminates the need for additional tools and accessories during installation that you would need for a weft such as beads, loopers, thread, or needles. Compared to a traditional tape-in installation with Classic Tape-Ins, Express Wefts cover a larger surface area, allowing stylists to achieve added fullness, length, or color in a quicker and more efficient application.

How long does the installation take for the Tape-In Deluxe?
Installation, maintenance, removal, and reapplications for the Deluxe Tapes will be identical to the Classic Tapes and will vary by stylist.
How long does the installation take for the Express Weft?
Depending on how much hair is being installed the installation can take anywhere from 15 min-1 hr. One row for density or a color building/blocking can be as quick as 15 minutes. However, a full head may take longer.
How long does the removal take for the Express Weft?
Depending on how much hair was installed removals can be 15-30 minutes.
What is the maintenance for the Express Weft and Deluxe Tapes?
Your guests should come in for a move-up service every 4-8 weeks.
How many packs of Express Wefts do I need to order for a full installation?
One pack of Express Wefts is ideal for adding density. For guests seeking more fullness and volume, we recommend 2–3 packs, which provides on average 90–210g of hair, depending on the chosen length.
For applications requiring more than 3 packs, we suggest either switching to another method or combining Express Wefts with another extension method to ensure the installation remains safe, comfortable, and long-lasting.
How many packs of Deluxe Tapes do I need to order for a full installation?
Although Deluxe Tapes can be used for a full head installation, they are ideally designed for guests who want to conceal their points of attachment. One pack is typically sufficient when combined with Classic Tapes in the crown and nape areas. For stylists who also wish to use Deluxe Tapes around the hairline, we recommend ordering two packs.
How are the Deluxe and Express Wefts different than what students are learning in class?
Tape-In Deluxe extensions are no different other than them being 5g per piece/10g per sandwich and the construction of the tab having the RootReplica™ technology.
It’s recommended that Express Weft only be installed with a bottom first application and features a 10” tape tab.
How should my guests care for their Deluxe Tapes and Express Wefts?
In addition to the regular recommended care, we advise that the extensions should not get wet for at least 48 hours after installation to fully allow the adhesive to set.

- Brush hair daily when dry using the BELLAMI Black Professional Brush to remove tangles, followed by the BELLAMI Boar Bristle Brush for added care.

- Wash as needed with a gentle, color-safe shampoo and conditioner.
-
- Use lightweight leave-in products from mid-lengths to ends.
-
- Do not apply leave-in products or conditioners directly to the tape tab.
-
- Do not apply heat directly on or within 1.5" of the tape tab.
-
- Regular salon maintenance is required, including deep-conditioning treatments and color-refreshing services.

- Always use a heat protectant when applying heat (including blow-drying).
-
- Never sleep with wet hair.
-
- Avoid pulling hair into high or tight ponytails.
-
- Guests should not remove extensions at home.

- Coloring the extensions is at the stylist’s discretion, including rooting. Due to the PU tabs, color may not deposit evenly.

- We do not recommend bleaching, lifting, or lightening the extensions.
